BUILD SMART BUILD GREEN

Mission Statement: Using the SVBA as a vehicle to promote green building in the Shenandoah Valley through a program of education for the building industry and consumers alike.

The SVBA Green Building Committee is a coalition of industry related professionals promoting environmentally sustainable green building practices.

Our main goal is to educate builders, communities, and municipalities on:

use of green building process and efficient planning
using green building materials
creating energy efficient homes and buildings
increased use of alternative energy sources
preservation of topsoil and trees = building with the topography
reducing storm water runoff through low impact development
maximize energy efficiency and minimize cost
help homeowners realize direct benefits of a green built home
